Sonata PHEV Powertrain Recognized by Ward's 10 Best Engines List

Created as a way to encourage powertrain innovation, Ward's 10 Best recognizes the most outstanding engines in the industry. Competition is stiff, so we were excited to learn that the Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle had earned a spot on the prestigious list; A first for the PHEV segment.

A highlight of the Sonata PHEV is its 9.8 kWh lithium battery pack which provides a segment-best all-electric range of 27 miles. The allows many commuters to complete local trips without using any fuel. The 2.0-liter Nu four-cylinder GDI engine produces 154 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque.
