Know the difference between front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive

Many trucks and SUVs, and even some cars these days have either all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. However, most vehicles, especially cars, still come with two-wheel drive standard. There are two different types of two-wheel drive, and it's important to know the difference between them.

Rear-wheel drive means the car is propelled forward by the back two wheels. This type of system is common on older cars, especially trucks, and it also is common in some high-performance sports cars. Front-wheel drive is the opposite type of system in which the vehicle is "pulled" forward by the front two wheels. This is common on newer vehicles and older passenger cars.

Whether you have rear-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, taking care of your vehicle's drive system is important. When you bring your car or truck to Todd Archer Hyundai, we will do a full inspection and make any repairs that are necessary.
